Don't just keep dental floss in your medicine cabinet. Keep some in the kitchen. It's a great tool. Use unflavored dental floss instead of a knife to cleanly cut all kinds of soft foods, soft cheese, rolled dough, layered cake and cheesecake.
Slow Cooker Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
3 pounds lean ground beef
Serve with coleslaw, pasta salad, or Jello salad.
Roasted Cauliflower Soup
1 large head cauliflower, cut into flowerets
Hearty Potato Soup
3 cups water Saute potatoes, garlic, onion, and celery in oil in skillet. Bring 3 cups water and 1 cup milk to a boil. Add Watkins Potato Soup Mix. Add sauteed vegetables and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with Watkins Good Tastings Bread, corn bread, or rolls.
Pumpkin Gingerbread Cake
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9-inch-round cake pan. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt in medium bowl; stir well. Combine apple juice and molasses in separate medium bowl; stir well. Beat sugar and shortening in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in pumpkin and egg. Alternately beat in flour mixture and juice mixture at low speed, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 30 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Cut into wedges. Serve with dollop of whipped topping. NOTE: A 9 x 5-inch loaf pan may be used in place of 9-inch-round cake pan. Increase bake time to 70 to 75 minutes
Apple Dumplings
Sauce Mix together and boil 5 minutes.
Dough Cut shortening into flour, salt, and baking powder. Add milk. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick.
Filling Peel and grate apples; spread over top of dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up like cinnamon rolls. Cut and lay flat in 13 x 9. Pour sauce over top. Bake at 425 for 35 minutes.
