Welcome to 2005! I have to admit that I eat my share of "junk" food. But I also eat healthy, nutritious foods. I've included a list of foods that will improve your health if eaten daily. Each issue I will include one or more recipes that include these foods. Many of them are delicious eaten as a nutritious snack or as part of a meal. I don't usually make New Year's resolutions. But there is a value in these resolutions because they make us think about ways to improve ourselves or our lives. This year I am making a New Year's resolution. It's not a life-changing resolution but one that I have been working toward for many years. I plan to make a family recipe book of all my favorite recipes. I've collected recipes for many, many years. They are scattered throughout several cookbooks, written on scraps of paper, on newspaper and magazine clippings, and in my head. These are recipes that I use everyday and for family gatherings and holidays. I plan to put them all in one very useful cookbook. The 2005 Great Backyard Bird Count is scheduled for February 18-21, 2005, and we hope you
