MOTIVATIONAL WORDS
You're more than your age
or an hourly wage,
You're more than your e-mail address.
You're not just some size
or the shape of your thighs
or the make of the car you possess.
You're more than your PIN
or the shade of your skin
or the place you were born or the date.
You're not your IQ
or the width of your shoe,
your zip code, your height, or your weight.
You can't be defined
by your Zodiac sign
or the lines in the palm of your hand.
It's not who you know
or the money you owe,
your blood type or cereal brand.
You're much too complex
for just race, creed, or sex,
you're wonderfully multidimensional.
You're one-of-a-kind
with a fabulous mind
and a spirit that's quite unconventional.
That makes you a treasure
which cannot be measured
with numbers and checks on a chart.
You're truly tremendous,
amazing, stupendous!
Believe it with all of your heart!

CONTEST
DON'T FORGET TO ENTER AUGUST CONTEST
Congratulations! Audrey in Idaho is July's winner.
She wins a tin of Egyptian Bouquet Dusting Powder to keep you cool and fresh this summer. This beautiful tin is a replica of our Egyptian Bouquet Talcum Powder tin from 1922, but today's powder has a non-talc cornstarch base. Its fragrance is a wonderfully nostalgic floral scent. Use everyday after shower or bath. Will protect against heat rash.
This is one of my favorite products.
Here is her summer recipe.
Picnic Deli Sandwich
1 loaf (about 14 inches long) Sourdough Bread
1/2 cup vinaigrette-style salad dressing (your favorite)
1/2 cup finely chopped cucumbers
1/2 cup finely chopped tomato
2 Tablespoons thinly sliced green onion
4 ounces sliced Swiss cheese
12 thin green bell pepper rings
9 ounces deli turkey
12 pieces thin-sliced salami
thin sliced red onion
- With a serrated knife, horizontally slice 1 inch off top of loaf. Pull soft center from bottom half of loaf (make a shell with 1/2-inch thick walls). Reserve soft bread for other uses.
- In a bowl, mix vinaigrette, cucumber, tomato and green onions. Spoon about half of the dressing evenly over interior of the hollowed out loaf. Also brush inside top of loaf to moisten.
- Layer cheese, bell pepper, turkey, salami and onion in loaf. Drizzle with remaining dressing. Set bread top over filling. Wrap sandwich in foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 3 hours or up to 24 hours.
- Unwrap, slice and enjoy!
My mouth is watering, Audrey.
Thanks for reading my newsletter and entering each month. Please don't quit; you might be next month's winner!
The winner of August's newsletter contest will receive their choice of a jar of Aloe and Green Tea Gentle Facial Moisturizer or a bottle of Peppermint Exfoliating Foot Scrub.
To enter August's contest tell me if you would consider cosmetic or laser surgery, such as liposuction, nose jobs, boob jobs, tummy tucks, eyelid surgery, getting rid of crow's feet, collegen injections, or botox. If you didn't have to worry about the cost would you consider any of the above to improve your appearance? LAUGH FOR GOOD HEALTH
A husband and wife go to a counselor after 15 years of marriage. The
counselor asks them what the problem is and the wife goes into a tirade,
listing every single problem they have ever had in the 15 years they've
been married. She goes on and on and on. Finally, the counselor gets
up, goes around the desk, embraces the woman, and kisses her
passionately.
The woman shuts up and sits quietly in a daze.
The counselor turns to the husband. "That, sir is what your wife needs
The husband says, "I can bring her in on Monday and Wednesday, but on
Friday I'm fishing."

HEALTH TIP
Basil
Basil is a tasty herb commonly used in Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. A flavorsome addition to meat, whole-wheat pasta, fish, salad, and soup, basil contains calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, potassium, magnesium, and carotenoids such as beta-carotene. Basil is grown throughout the year. It is easily grown indoors or outside as long as there is no danger of frost, though it is much more abundant during the summer months.
To use basil, first pick the leaves from the stalk and rinse well. For the most intense flavor when cooking, crush the leaves and add to soups, stews, and whole-wheat pasta. Since basil does not stand up well to heat and should not be cooked for too long, you may want to add it to a dish at the very last moment. Simply chop it coarsely and toss it in just before your food is ready. Another option is to puree basil with extra-virgin olive oil and garlic for a tasty, pesto-like sauce for seafood, poultry, and whole-wheat pasta.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
COOKING TIP
Make your own breadstick dippping sauce by adding Italian seasoning to tomato paste or sauce. If you don't have Italian seasoning add a small amount of basil, oregano, and garlic granules. Mix and allow flavors to blend.
*** Integrity Since 1868 ***
138 years of experience and integrity goes into each one of our products.
J.R. Watkins started a lasting tradition when he introduced the world's
sell.
